Strategic Hiring and Selection:

The Strategic Hiring and Selection process includes:

An in-depth analysis regarding role requirements and the key skills and talents needed; Assuring the process and results are aligned with the business purpose; Focusing on the knowledge and skills required; The functional and process accountabilities; The core working relationships; and the values that will increase the likelihood of success and find a candidate that meets current and future needs.

Assessment of the candidate—his or her capabilities, motivation, work history, patterns of behavior, values and aspirations that may or may not be consistent with the expectations of the role. This is a structured approach that is much more than just a casual “job interview.”

Feedback and discussion with fellow employees, supervisors and senior managers. Many positions require an initial interview as well as colleague and co-worker interactions with the potential candidate.

Once an offer has been extended and accepted, follow-up coaching and training, as well as “on-boarding” activities should be part of the transition from candidate to team member.
